Uganda is a nation largely made up of children:
51% of the population is under the age of 15.

Even if every dollar the world gave actually reached the African child in the form of food, clothing, and school supplies, the child might survive, but there is no assurance (s)he would not become an “adult victim” of poverty, AIDS, diseases, corruption, starvation, or countless other symptoms of a fallen world.

How It Works

In Uganda, children die daily of malnutrition, and of lack of medical treatment, basic necessities
& loving care. Many of the children live in desperate situations, sleeping on dirt floors and becoming
infested with lice, fleas, and worms. Many will grow up with no education from lacking
the means to pay public school fees.

Most of the children supported through sponsorship live with a single parent, intact impoverished family or extended family members; some are cared for in the ministry’s Children’s Home. Ministry staff see sponsored children
weekly at AWANA club activities and visit their homes regularly to supplement food, clothing
and household needs. Donations help us provide these educational and supplemental needs

In order to raise these children out of the cycle of poverty into which they were born, sponsorship offers a quality education at the ministry’s Genesis Nursery and Primary School as well as secondary school (high school) and vocational or university training in the country.

Holmes Medical Clinic also opened in 2012 to provide affordable medical care
to the community. Your generous gift will allow us to provide ongoing, vital medical services
to those who would otherwise go untreated for serious conditions.

The Three Types of Sponsorships

Basic

This sponsorship covers children ages 2 to 14 and sometimes even higher, and through the 7th grade of primary school. To meet basic, spiritual, educational and medical needs of one child, sponsorship is $80/mo. We ask for a minimum recurring gift of $40/mo which will be matched with other sponsors’ gifts, if needed.)

Secondary School Scholarship

When children complete primary school, they test to qualify for secondary school or vocational training. Only 15% of Ugandans can afford to do so and make it possible to end their family’s cycle of poverty. A scholarship for one child is $160/month from 1 or between 2 sponsors and includes the basic sponsorship needs. ( We ask for a minimum recurring gift of $40/month which will be matched with other sponsors’ gifts, if needed.)

Future Leader

Youth who successfully complete the scholarship program are offered opportunities for higher education. If you don’t have a specific age of child in mind for sponsorship, we ask that you consider these young adults. Be a part of developing a future leader for Uganda with an ongoing gift of $200-$240/mo. from 1 or between 2 or 3 sponsors.
