Writing Your Sponsored Child

Tips & Helpful Info

Your sponsored child will write you 3 times per year.

Sponsored children like to know about your family structure, your work, your day-to-day life, and stories of how God has worked in your life.

Many sponsored children are living without one or both parents and long to be part of a family. They respond to encouragement by their sponsors and often strive to please you just as they would a parent.

Please do not include your personal address within any letter to your sponsored child, nor invite them to visit you in the U.S.

Please never encourage children to ask you for money, although they may give you a wish list, at your request, for possible birthday gifts.

Please never send cash or checks, as they are frequently stolen along the way and cashed at greatly increased amounts.

Please be cautious when sending packages as their arrival is not always guaranteed. Do not include electronics or other valuable items as they are likely to be stolen along the way. Due to high baggage costs, Katherine is unable to take children’s gifts when she returns to Uganda. We ask that packages are not sent to our littleton office as it is cost prohibitive for us to send packages.
