Mary’s father and his brother and sister were raised in the HUM sponsorship program. Her father was killed in a motorcycle accident when Mary was just 6 months old and her mother abandoned her with an older relative that tried to care for Mary for 2 years. Mary was brought into the HUM children’s home and has been growing up there with much love and caring and growing in her faith in Jesus.
Mary completed her primary education at HUM’s Genesis Primary School and began secondary school in 2023. Mary has had a faithful sponsor for many years and is now in need of a scholarship sponsor to help cover the additional costs that come with secondary school. Sponsorship is giving Mary hope for a meaningful future, allowing her to escape a potential life of a young marriage, no education and trapped in the cycle of poverty as happens to many girls in this developing country.
