Genesis Primary School

In a country where scarcely half the children complete primary school, virtually all of HUM’s sponsored children do so, many at HUM’s Genesis Primary School. The school currently serves children through seventh grade.  Ugandan public schools frequently have more than 100 children in a classroom while Genesis maintains a maximum classroom size of 30 children. Also, many local schools require long days for 6 days a week while Genesis provides an age appropriate schedule.

Genesis offers unique curriculum designed by the Rafiki Foundation that has children successfully performing at high academic standards and provides a Biblical foundation throughout the curriculum. Sponsored and community children attend the school.

Holmes Medical Clinic

As the 3rd poorest country in the world, Uganda struggles to meet all of the medical needs of its citizens. Many deaths occur from common diseases like Malaria, Typhoid, Dysentery and Diabetes for which many simply cannot afford treatment. The Holmes Medical Clinic began in rented space in 2011 to meet the medical needs of the ministry’s sponsored children. The clinic expanded its services to impoverished families of the Kamonkoli community in January 2015 when it moved into brand new facilities on the HUM compound.

Medical Officer and Clinic Manager Michael Namai has special training in HIV/AIDS  treatment and counseling.   Along with a small staff of nurses and lab technicians provide ongoing, vital medical services to this community and those who would otherwise go untreated for serious conditions.

HUM currently has sponsored youth studying to become nurses
as well as a doctor, a dentist and a lab technician.

AWANA

(Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed)

Hines Ugandan Ministries believes that it is as important to feed the children spiritually as it is physically. Sponsored and community children attend weekly AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) clubs to learn about Jesus through Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and games. Up to 1,000 children and youth attend during school breaks.
